Software Engineer
Summary
CTC Group is seeking Software Engineers, for a contingent program supporting the development, maintenance, and enhancement of complex mission software systems. In this role, you will design and develop new capabilities, improve existing applications, troubleshoot software issues, and collaborate with engineering teams to deliver reliable solutions across analytics, large-scale data processing, real-time systems, and other mission environments.
Locations: Annapolis Junction / Ft. Meade
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance complex software systems based on documented mission and technical requirements
- Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements
- Design and code new software and modify existing applications to add capabilities and improve performance
- Debug existing software, investigate software problem reports, and resolve defects
- Integrate existing software into new or modified systems and operating environments
- Review and test software components to ensure they meet design and performance requirements
- Develop and execute software test procedures and document test results
- Develop database queries and interfaces for existing or proposed databases and data repositories
- Apply software development and design methodologies appropriate to the technical environment
- Analyze system performance, data usage, workflows, and technical constraints to develop effective software solutions
- Collaborate with systems and hardware engineers to define software requirements, interfaces, and technical approaches
- Evaluate hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse, and the use of COTS/GOTS solutions
- Develop and maintain software and system documentation
- Recommend and implement improvements to software development processes, standards, and documentation
- For senior-level positions, provide technical leadership, oversee software development activities, and ensure the quality of developed and modified software
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
- Four (4) years of SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
Level 0 Qualifications
- No demonstrated experience is required.
Level 1 Qualifications
- Seven (7) years experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
Level 2 Qualifications
- Fourteen (14) years experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
Level 3 Qualifications
- Twenty (20) years experience as a SWE, in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
